My Journey

Ever since I was in school I actually hated to read. It wasn't that I couldn't, it was the fact that I couldn't find the beauty with the written word. It wasn't until I reached 3rd grade that I found my love for reading. It was in Mrs. Vaughn's 3rd grade class that she sat us down on the round blue carpet and read Harry Potter to us. I was instantly captivated by the adventures that Harry embarked and in some ways I found myself relating to the new found wizard.
What was love soon became an obsession. Through the years I read books here and there but stopped reading all at once. It wasn't until ninth grade that I picked up my love of reading again and never stopped. Eventually that love for reading turned into a passion for writing. Often times there were plots or scenes that didn't go the way that I had wanted them to, so instead I began writing. I used to be bad at it until I went to college and discovered that I was pretty good at it.
Being a writer took years of practice, research and more practice! I used to practice with friends and write little scenes in my head. I even kept a journal to write the crazy dreams I once had!
The point of this post is to express how long it took me to get where I am today. Never in my life, I thought I would be an Author, but here I am. Anything is possible if you really put your mind to it.
